| August 22, 2001. Homosexual 'Survivor' winner Richard Hatch Charged With Gay Bashing! Say it ain't so!!! Homosexual Relationship are Violent & Abnormal??? Homosexuals in the media, the legal profession, and the American Psychological Association, attempt to present the American public with a sanitized version of homosexuality, so as to make it appear to be "normal." And what's wrong with that? Well, nothing. A homo is a homo, as a bird is a bird or a fish is a fish. However, psychopathology, violence, drug addiction, and bizarre and dangerous sex practices are epidemic among a significant minority of male homosexuals, about 30%. In so called "homosexual marriages," both partners commonly have sex with strangers, and, a signficant percentage of homosexual relationships are often marred by violence. Former 'Survivor' winner Richard "Dick" Hatch has been one of the poster boys of the homosexual movement... but alas, the big Dick has been charged with domestic violence. Dicky apparently assaulted his lover boy "Boyanowski." The homosexual Hatch, 40, became a national celebrity and a gay poster boy, last year after he won $1 million on the CBS television show "Survivor." As we all know, the media not only wishes us to believe that homosexuality is normal, but they and their allies are demanding that homosexuals be given access to children, and are trying to portray the Boy Scouts of America as "evil" for refusing to allow homosexuals unfettered access to these boys, as there is obviously a concern not only about homosexual "morals" but the likelihood these boys will be sexually assaulted and abused. Morality is, of course, relative. In ancient Sparta (Greece that is), "Greek love" between men and boys was "normal." The leadership of the Catholic church, and the Jesuit (e.g. Smolich) think that sex with boys is normal and that pedophile priests should not be punished. Readers might find it of interest that Richard the Dick Hatch was also arrested in April 2000 on a charge of abusing his 9-year-old son. |
| August 16, 2001. Homosexual Serial Killer on the Loose Yet Another Reason Why "Gays" Make Good Role Models. Earlier this week (see below) we printed a brief article discussing homosexuality and violence including the fact that those who engage in "gay bashing" and the murder of homosexuals, are almost always homosexuals. Homosexual violence against homosexuals is epidemic, and it is often extremely viscious. Now--yet another homo-cidal maniac is on the loose, Adam Ezerski, 19, of Atlantic Beach, Florida, who has recently committed two "homocides," i.e. the murder of Irving Sicherer, 76 on July 25, and the killing of Anthony Martilotto, 39, the very next day. Although they had just met him, the two victims willingly invited Adam into their homes and allowed him to ejaculate in their mouths and anus, after which he killed them. Ah, Gay love! Its so romantic! Sicherer was bludgeoned to death, and Martilotto, who met Adam the next day, was strangled. It is also believed that Adam has severely beaten a number of "gay" men after having sex with them, including, on August 15, a San Francisco homosexual who picked Adam up in a cafe, brought him home, and was then beaten after allowing Adam to ejaculate in his mouth and in his anus. The victim, who is in his early 40s, told authorities that he woke up Tuesday to discover Ezerski strangling him and beating him in the head with a plastic sculpture of a giant penis. He was later treated for head lacerations at a local hospital and released. However, the victim did not contact police at first, because, he was still in love and didn't realize Adam was a serial killer. Ahh, how sweet! Ain't "gay love" grand? |

Berkeley Homosexual Councilman Insults Japanese Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
The homosexual ideal of "Greek Love" is sex with young boys, and indeed, among the Doric Greeks, the homosexual rape of little boys was celebrated as the romantic ideal. In Hitler's Germany, and during his rise to power, homosexuals were his most ardent supporters, including Rudolf Hess, Ernst Roehm, and notorious homosexual child rapists Julious Streicher and Gerhard
Rossbach. The dreaded SA Brownshirts (Storm Troopers) were in part, the creation of the sadistic child rapist Gerhard
Rossbach. Prior to joining up with Hitler, Rossbach had created a homosexual-pedophile unit of the Freikorps
(3Free Corps2), which was notorious not only for the sadistic murder and torture of opponents, but on one occasion, the brutal murder of a little boy whom they stomped to death. Under Hitler, however, Rossbach also formed a youth organization which became the "Hitler Youth" -a "BoyScout-like" organization where little boys were commonly raped.
Homosexual men were also drawn to the notorious S.A. and the SS, as well as the leadership of the Hitler Youth, and the homosexual rape of young boys became epidemic. Hitler was finally forced to decree the death penality for any SS man who raped boys. Throughout history, wherever and whenever homosexuality became "accepted" sex with boys, including rape, also became commonplace, which in turn led to the destruction of these civilizations. The homosexual rape of young boys is so prevalent within the Catholic Priesthood that by edict the Church no longer allows priests to be alone with altar boys. Indeed, two years ago, the United Nations was forced to suspend the association of those international groups representing homosexuals as their main agenda was sex with children. Sex with boys was in fact an acknowledged part of the homosexual agenda, until the mid 1970s, when it was finally recognized that they were more likely to achieve most of their goals, including sexual access to children, if this part of their agenda was temporarily jettisoned. Thus we should not be surprised that homosexuals in the United States, including homosexuals in the media, in the legal profession, in the American Psychological Association, and in politics, including a homosexual councilman in Berkely, are demanding access to little boys, i.e. the Boy Scouts. The very "gay" and feminine ABC news anchor, Peter Jennings, regularly assails the Boy Scouts, demanding that homosexuals be given access to little boys. Why do they want access to little boys? Duh! So they can f--k them! As noted, homosexuals were Hitler's earliest and most ardent supporters and thus eagerly embraced each other as well as fascism. Manny of the leaders of the homosexual movement in America also have facist tendencies, and do all in their power to stamp out free speech and those who dare oppose their agenda, including, in our opinion, the homosexual Berkeley councilman who insulted Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops visiting from Japan by persuading the mayor of Berkeley to cancel a meeting with these groups. The 38 scouts from Sakai, Berkeley's sister city in Japan, were to meet with Berkeley's mayor (a "femi-Nazi") to present her with a letter from the mayor of their city. The visiting group also included American Girl Scouts, none of whom are involved in the homosexuality dispute. Nevertheless, according to this homosexual coucilman, even though these groups do not discriminate against "gays" the best way to fight discrimination is through discrimination and by insulting, embarrassing, and sadistically causing harm to children. Yeah! That's right. If you can't rape them, well then, just kick them in the teeth. However, we say, it is not discrimination to prevent homosexual men from gaining access to children. It is common sense. Unfortunately, there is nothing "common" about common sense, which is why a foolish public is slowly allowing themselves to be brainwashed into believing that the Boy Scouts are evil and that homosexual men should be allowed unfettered access to young boys. |
| August 11, 2001. Violence & Homosexuality. Most "Gay Bashers" are Homosexuals. First: Lets face an interesting face: Those who are the most stridently "anti-gay" --or rather: homophobis" and who enjoy "bashign gays" are probably closet homosexuals who are beating on their own unknown face. Homosexuals in the media, in the legal profession, in the American Psychological Association, and in the political arena, want the American public to believe that homosexuality is "normal" and a healthy form of behavior, and that homosexuals make excellent role models. Please! Drug abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, violence, alcoholism, and mental illness, are common features of the homosexual experience among at least 30% of homosexuals. There is nothing "gay" about being gay. Indeed, every single legitimate study of homosexuality has found an inordinant degree of pathology among this population, with about 30% to 40% of homosexuals displaying grossly abberant and abnormal behavior. Moreover, although the homosexual community prefers to blame heterosexuals for "gay bashing" those who beat up homosexuals and those who kill homosexuals, are almost always, homosexuals and men who admit to having had sex with men in the past or at least fantasizing about it. Homosexual violence against homosexuals, and that includes women beating up women and men beating up men, is epidemic, often viscious. Even homosexual organizations are being forced to admit there is a serious problem. As of they year 2000, it was estimated that about 30% to 40% of homosexual couples violently batter one another. However, in a more recent study, it is being reported that homosexuals are now more willing to report same-sex violence, and that reported incidents of domestic violence in gay and lesbian relationships rose 29 percent nationally last year. For example, the San Francisco-based Community United Against Violence (a homosexual organization) recorded 4,048 incidents of domestic violence in gay and lesbian relationships, up from 3,120 cases in 1999. In Los Angeles, there is a 58.2 percent increase. However, it is also cautioned that perhaps the majority of cases are never reported due to shame, etc., Why is homosexual violence so commonplace? First off, homosexual violence is not limited to other homosexuals. During the middle ages, homosexual priests delighted in sadistically torturing and burning women and men at the stake. Indeed, the term "faggot" refers to the homosexual priests who would bring the wood and then light these sticks and the victims on fire. Faggot=wood=homosexual. Homosexuals (and lawyers) were prominenent members of Hitler's notorious and incredibly vile and sadistic S.A. and his S.S. The two boys who murdered their school mates at Calabine high school in Colorado were homosexuals. But this does not answer the question: Why violence? According to Dr. Joseph, in the 3rd edition of his text, Neuropsychiatry, violence and homosexuality are linked due to abnormalities in the limbic system, the amygdala and hypothalamus in particular. These structures control and mediate violence and sexuality. The amygdala contains facial feature detectors, sexual pheromonal receptors, and becomes sexually aroused, and a man with a "male" amygdala, therefore, becomes aroused by the female face and body. However, a male homosexual with a hypertrophied and "hyper-female" amygdala becomes aroused by the male body. It is these "abnormalities" which cause men to be attraced to men and for some men to engage in indiscriminate and hypersexuality, often having sex with hundreds of strangers who they allow to ejaculate in their mouth and anus, and it is these abnormalities which give rise to abnormal violent behaviors, including abnormal violent sexual behaviors. It is these same limbic system abnormalities which predispose so many homosexuals to other forms of pathology, such as drug and alcohol abuse and suicidal behavior. However, yet another factor is psychological, i.e. self-hate, and many of those who hate themselves, express that hate by beating upon their own unknown face. |
| August 2, 2001. Laughing With Dogs. Do Dogs Have a Sense of Humor? Those who have the opportunity to spend time with a truly intelligent dog, soon come to realize that these beasts are capable of experiencing almost the full range of human emotions, and can smile, frown, show disapointment, as well as display love and jealousy. Some dogs are heartbreakingly intelligent (e.g. Belgian shepherds), and also appear to have a sense of humor. In fact, recent evidence suggests that dogs are capable of laughing as well as using their breathing patterns to indicate a desire to play and that they are having fun. For example, dogs at play make a distinctive, breathy exhalation that can trigger playfulness in other dogs. Moreover, according to Dr. Simonet of Sierra Nevada College, this breathy exhalation might be the dog version of a laugh. "To an untrained human ear, it sounds much like a pant, 'hhuh, hhuh,'"according to Simonet. By analyzing and reproducing recordings of dog sounds during play vs aggressive encounters, she found that when a young dogs hears the "laugh" it will pick up a toy and offer it playfully to another dog or to whatever human might be in the room. Growls, of course, did not have this effect. Presumably, this full range of emotion, including the ability to laugh, is made possible by limbic system brain structures shared by humans and dogs alike, including the cingulate gyrus. However, dogs are unable to speak in words and sentences as they have not evolved a "Broca's" or "Wernicke's area) which in humans makes expressive and receptive speech possible. |
| August 2, 2001. The Oceans of Mars & the Biblical Flood Were the Oceans of Mars Flung to Earth by a Wayward Planet? In his two recent texts, Astrobiology... and, The Transmitter to God, Dr. R. Joseph argues that Mars may have been awash with oceans and rivers and streams, as recently as 10,000 years ago. Likewise, we at Brain-Mind.com/ScienceNews.html, have printed Martian photographs which suggest that the surface of Mars may have been subject to massive flooding within the last 10,000 years. Of course, these views are completely contrary to those held by NASA and the scientific establishment, which instead claim that the oceans of Mars disappeared billions of years ago. Now, recent evidence indicates that Joseph was correct and that Mars was covered with oceans and streams within the last 100,000 years. And where there is water, there is life. Specifically, based on date supplied by the Mars Global Surveyor the evidence indicates that oceans of water has shaped martian landforms within the past 10 million years, and that these conditions were conducive to life - at least according to Professor Victor R. Baker who published his findings in the July 12, issue of Nature. In fact, according to Baker, images from the Viking missions and the Mars Orbital Camera (MOC) and Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) are not only consistent with the view that water and massive floods shaped the geology of Mars, but it happened very recently. Moreover, in yet another study, there is evience of recent climate change including massive flooding during the last 100,000 years, according to geologist John Mustard in a study also published in Nature. The geologically young terrain that had been altered due to flooding was observed in two bands north and south of the equator at 30 to 60 degrees latitude. The location is significant because it shows that ice in the soil was once present as close to the equator as 30 degrees and as recently as 100,000 years. 3While we have always thought the climate of Mars has changed over time, this is direct evidence for change. And that change fits with the theory of periodic climate change, similar to the change that causes the ice ages on Earth,2 Mustard said. There are generally three explanations for what became of the oceans of Mars. One is that the oceans seeped off into space--which of course does not make any sense if there were oceans of water as recently as 100,000 years ago. A second explantion is that the oceans lie beneath the surface and that changing internal conditions cause these oceans of water to rise up and flood across the surface of Mars. A third explanation is that around 10,000 years ago, an Earth-sized wayward planet swept close to Mars (which is 1/10 the side of Earth) and that gravitational forces sucked the oceans of Mars into space, essentially stripping Mars of its oceans and much of its atmosphere, and that these oceans trailed behind this wayward planet, like a comet's tail, which then lashed the Earth as the planet continued on its wayward journey. That is, the oceans of Mars were deposited on the Earth, thus accounting for the great flood described in the Bible and the Summerian, Babylonian, and Mayan histories. According to these histories, Mars was attacked by the planet Venus which stripped Mars of his coat and his skin, i.e.the oceans and atmosphere of Mars. Like a great watery serpant, Venus swept by the Earth which passed through the watery tail that trailed behind this planet, thus causing massive floods. |
| August 2, 2001. Life On Mars. Evidence Indicates that Living Creatures Still Thrive On Mars Martian soil collected by the Viking Landers 1 and 2 provided evidence that life might still exist on the Red Planet, says Joseph Miller, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Cell and Neurobiology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Miller recently did a re-analysis of data collected by the landers, and found that something in the collected soil was apparently metabolizing nutrients‹and doing so with a distinct biological rhythm that, he says, can only be found in a living cell. In August and September of 1975, the Viking spacecraft performed a series of experiments‹including one in which a robotic arm scooped up samples of soil and deposited them in petri dishes, along with a drop of a nutrient solution that had been labeled with radioactive carbon. The idea, explains Miller, was that if there were any living organisms in the sample, they would take up the carbon-labeled nutrients and process them, eventually releasing the radioactive carbon in a gas form. A radiation detector was set up near the covered dish, connected to it by a tube through which released gases were found to travel suggesting the possibility of life on Mars‹but other scientists claimed the results were due to chemical reactions with highly reactive compounds like superoxides and peroxides. However, Miller, looking at the same data, discovered evidence of highly periodic gas release and thus evidence of a biological clock, i,e, a circadian rhythm. "The signal itself not only had a circadian rhythm," declares Miller, "but it had a precise circadian rhythm of 24.66 hours‹which is particularly significant, because it1s the length of a Martian day." As for the original concerns of the dubious chemists, who thought the same sort of signal could simply be coming from highly reactive, non-organic compounds in the soil, Miller says such a scenario would be almost impossible to imagine. "For one thing," he explains, "there has since been research that shows that superoxides exposed to an aqueous solution‹like the nutrient solution in the experiment‹will quickly be destroyed. And yet, the circadian rhythms from the Martian soil persisted for nine straight weeks." "We think that in conjunction with the strong indications that water flowed on the surface in the recent past, I1d say it1s over 90 percent that there is life on Mars." |
| August 2, 2001. Love & Abuse If "Abuse" is Common, Does that Make it Normal? New evidence suggests that between 20% to 25% of female teenagers and young women are physically or sexually "abused" by their boyfriends. However, if that is the case,and this behavior is so prevalent, then perhaps what is labeled "abuse" is a "normal" aspect of courtship behavior, or, more likely, a remnant of ancestral behavior patterns which serve to trigger sexual arousal in females. Didn't female-teen idol, Britney Spears sing: "Baby Hit Me One More time"? Wasn't that one of her best selling Hits!? Consider, for example, among many species, the female is actively pursued, physically restrained, and seemingly forced to have sex--at which point they may ovulate or experience an orgasm. Orangutans commonly "rape" the females--which has caused some "feminists" and female psychologists to label this behavior as "wrong" and unacceptable. Right! And lions and tigers should be fed cat chow since killing is also "wrong." Specifically, this newest study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, indicates that one in five teenage girls is physically or sexually abused by a dating partner. It is noteworthy, however, that this study also reports that those who are abused by a dating partner are at increased risk of suicide, drug abuse and other self-destructive behavior--which raises another possibility regarding why these females are in these relationships in the first place, i.e. they derive pleasure from being abused -or, they were abused as children and "abuse" therefore becomes a "normal" part of having a "loving relationship." If these women weren't being abused by their boyfriend, they might dump the guy in order to find someone who will--because they like it and it gives them pleasure. Now, hold on to your pantyhose and don't jump to conclusions--what we are saying is that: Abuse and trauma will trigger the release of enkephalins (natural opiates). It is the release of enkephalins which explains why a beast being attacked by lions or wolves, might lie down and passively allow itself to be eaten alive--its body is awash with opiates and its in enkephalin heaven. Likewise, some women seek out abuse or trauma, or may cut or hurt themselves, because they derive pleasure from it, i.e. the trauma induced release of enkephalins. As to this more recent study, which was based on surveys in 1997 and 1999, 4,163 Massachusetts high school students were asked whether a date ever shoved, slapped or hit them, or forced them into sexual activity. They also were asked about recent risky behavior. Females in abusive relationships are nearly nine times more likely to have attempted suicide, six times more likely to have ever been pregnant, and four times more likely to have ever used cocaine. In this regard, the evidence also suggests that these females may be more likely to seek out dangerous abuse men and to date violent partners. And why would they do that? Perhaps because they like it and seek out violent partners in order to obtain the next hit of an enkephalin high. |
| July 28, 2001. Love & Abuse: Why Some Women Choose to Mate with "Losers." You go to a nightclub and there she is, an incredibly beautiful woman sitting at a table with her girlfriends. And as you ponder your next move, you watch as several handsome, well dressed men approach this sweet sexy doll only to be turned down cold. She shakes her pretty head "no," her girlfriends laugh, and yet another man walks away with that embarrassed, twisted smile... And then this total "loser" approaches her table, a guy who appears to make minimal wage and is probably unemployed. He talks to her, she laughs, he pulls up a chair, they talk, she touches his sleeve, they dance, he scores! You've seen it a thousand times. Beautiful women hanging on the arms of creeps, punks, and assorted losers, and happily fucking and pulling down their panties for these worthless scum. Why do some women chose to mate with losers who more often than not mistrat or brutalize them, and make them miserable? There is a saying: I want to marry a man just like the man, who married dear old mom. However, if "dad" was an asshole, then she is going to seek out an "asshole" who will provide her with the familiar of the long ago. She will attach herself to a man who treats her in a way she has grown accustomed, who will provide her with the abuse that she is comfortable with; because what is not familiar, makes her uncomfortable. If parents are mutually abusive, if the child is made to feel badly, then abuse and feeling badly become "normal" and the yardstick against which all future mates are measured. And, if he doesn't provide the abuse, she will provoke him, or leave him for someone who will. Men and women are shaped by their childhoods and they often model the behavior of their parents. And if they were treated bady and made to feel badly, then when they grow up, they will attach themselves to men and women who can recreate the comfortable familiarity of the long ago. Neurologically, the anatomy of love and abuse can be localized to the limbic system, the amygdala in particular. The amygdala is not only implicated in generating feelings of love, sexuality, and aggression, but will release enkephalins (natural opiates) when traumatized. In consequence, love can be associated with trauma, and trauma can be rewarding, not only because of the recreation of the familiar, but the release of enkephalins... which is why some women seek out and stay with losers who make them miserable... ah love... |

Blind Spots: Now You See 'Em - Now You Don't Mind's Eye Erases Static Images: Observe the Swirling Blue Dots and the Yellow Ones Disapear As demonstrated by Yoram Bonneh and colleagues, of the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco, while observing a swirling pattern of blue dots superimposed on stationary yellow dots, the yellow dots seem to wink in and out of existence. Bonneh and colleagues refer to this illusion as "motion-induced blindness." This phenomenon is a common feature of every day life, and involves every sensory modality. Consider, for example, the sense of touch... You may be aware of the pressure of the chair against your buttocks... and then the sensation disapears. Or consider the sounds outside your window... or background conversations.... Or even memories. Try to recall what you did, in detail, during the last two months. How much can you recall? Or, you drive for miles while your mind is "elsewhere." There are huge gaps in memory and perception... however, because the gaps also disapear, one is generally not aware of the wholes in the fabric of what constitutes reality... and everyday experience. This phenomenon may also be a factor in car accidents: As pointed out by Bonneh, while driving for hours late at night, the tail lamp of the car in the next lane may temporarily vanish. The entire care may vanish... and in consequence there is an accident coupled with the exclamation: "Where did that car come from?" |
| July 22, 2001. Bacteria Swap Genes In Order to Adapt New Genetic Data Does NOT Support Darwinism According to Dr. R. Joseph's theory of "evolutionary metamorphosis" living creatures can acquire new traits through lateral gene exchange, and that, as creatures have been hurled into space and have landed on new planets, they have exchanged genes with the denizens of these new worlds, thus increasing their genetic library. This view, of course, is an anethema to the scientific establishment which prefers to believe that evolution is random. Now, in a study conducted by Dr. James Musser and colleagues at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, it was found that different species of bacteria can exchange genes which can provide those bacteria who acquire these genes, with resistance to antibiotics. Specifically, they found that 36 strains of the bacterium, Staphylococcus, can easily exchange genes with any of the other 2,817 bacteria strains of Staph. In otherwords, consistent with the theory of Joseph but contary to Darwinism, bacterial resistance to antibiotics does not randomly evolve. Rather, a creature that has a specific trait, can donate the genes coding for those traits, to other creatures who then acquire the same traits, including resistance to antibiotics. However, what this study also indicates, is that the widespread and often indiscriminant administration of antibiotics is creating conditions where soon all bacteria will become immune - epidemics unlike anything the world has seen before shall soon become commonplace. |
| July 21, 2001. Artificial Heart Patient Is Doomed to Disability & Multiple Strokes: Secrecy Imposed! Artificial Heart Will Always Cause Strokes In Patients with Heart Disease/Atherosclerosis. Have a Heart! Damage Your Brain! Three weeks ago scientists conducting what is little more than human experiments, implanted an artificial heart in a middle-aged man in a Louisville Kentucky. The doctors, of course, warned that he "would remain seriously ill for "a very, very long time" and then indicated that the results of this experiment would remain a secret. Yes, yes, it is true that his failing kidneys have improved, but he had to be placed on a respirator and is hooked up to a feeding tube. Moreover, there is bleeding around the beeper-size battery pack and controller implanted in his abdomen for his mechanical heart. Of course, despite these setbacks, one of the surgeons reported "he has done better than I would have expected," but then was forced to admit that "he's extremely sick, and he's going to be sick for a very, very long time." Unfortunatley, Abiomed Inc., of Danvers, Mass. which manufactures the artificial heart, has claimed that they are "protecting the patient's privacy" and are refusing to divulge details. Privacy? Nonsense. What they are protecting is the financial health of Abiomed. What they haven't mentioned, and what they won't reveal, is that the human they are experimenting on will suffer incredible brain damage from multiple strokes. Specifically, in patients with failing hearts and other vascular diseases, thrombi and sclerotic plaques build up in the blood vessels. By removing the heart and sticking in an artificial device, some of the thrombi break loose and flow up into the brain where they clog an artery inducing a stroke. Moreover, not just from the trauma, but from the renewed force of blood being pumped into the arteries, thrombi will eventually break off and cause massive strokes. This is exactly what happened 20 years ago with Barney Clark -- they turned him into a vegetable. Yes - but the artificial heart worked great! |

Laid Off Women Take Longer Than Men To Find Another Job In a recent study, it was found that women take longer than men to find a new job after they have been fired or laid off, and that women are more likely to seek part-time work or to leave the labor force entirely. Moreover, women who are married, take even longer to find a new job and are far more likely to take part-time work or to opt for early retirement. Typically, women are less likely to lose a job than men -that is, men tend to lose their jobs at a higher rate than women. However, when women lose their jobs, they are 7% less likely than men to seek a new job. Specifically, married men, on average, spend 3.7 months looking for new work, compared with 4 months for single men, 4.3 months for single women, and 4.4 months for married women. And women are 10% more likely to opt for part-time work. The likelyhood that a woman will decided to stay unemployed increases if her husband already has a well paying job. It is also noteworthy, that women take more time off from work, have more sick days, and are more likely to arrive late and leave early. |

Women Choose High Status Males for Sex Partners Make no mistake about it, although the media and the family of Ms. Levy wish us to believe that this "intern" was sexually seduced by Congressman Condit, every woman knows in her heart of hearts, that Ms. Levy was the sexual seductress and was certainly no innocent victim. Ms. Levy knew Condit was married and she did not work for him and was thus under no pressure to pull her panties down for the congressman. She chose to have sex with him, because he was, in her eyes, a high profile, successful, "powerful man." Women, and other female primates and animals, prefer to have sex with high status males and those who offer them resources or status and will actively seek out and solicit these men for sex. Congressmen, senators, professional athletes, movie and rock stars... any male who is in the public eye is often beseiged by aggressive females who are eager for sex. Just as there are "groupies" who make a career out of having sex with rock stars, there are groupies who seek out politicians for sex, and it is not uncommon for female "interns" to flock to Washington DC in search of an act of congress. These women are the sexual aggressors, not the other way around. Be it human or non-human animal, and in the majority of cultures and all of Western society, and for most of the animal and insect kingdom it is the female who chooses if she mates, with whom she mates, with who she bonds and even whom she might marry, and she will either flirt to attract the attention of the man she desires, or she will take her pick and choose which lucky guy gets to sample her charms. Even in very rigid patriarchal societies, such as in the middle and far East, often it is the female relatives who arrange the marriages and who inspect the groom and prospective bride. In the majority of societies, and among almost all animals, it is up to the male to win the female's favor and this he does by trying to impress her (or her relatives) with his assets, athletic ability, intellect, car, job, health insurance, salary, and the gifts he brings and the money he spends on her. That is, he must first impress her and then he trades and offers her access to his resources in exchange for sexual access to her body. | July 12, 2001. Girls vs Boys Perceive & Process Faces & Facial Emotions with the left vs right half of the brain. Almost all studies of adults have demonstrated that the right hemisphere is dominant for the perception of the human face and facial emotions. Likewise, damage to specific areas of the right hemisphere can result in an inability to recognize the human face-- a condition called prosopagnosia. Some patients not only fail to recognize family and friends, but can no longer recognize their own face in the mirror. In children, however, there is evidence that the left hemisphere of the prepubescent female is dominant over the right in the processing of faces and emotions-- which suggests that the brains of young females are organized differently that those of adult females. Specifically, in the July issue of Neuropsychology, Dr. Erik Everhart and colleagues in a study of 17 boys and 18 girls between the ages of 8 and 11 years found when required to perform a face-recognition-memory task, and a facial emotional expression, that prepubertal boys showed significantly greater right- versus left-hemisphere EEG activity during the presentation of face stimuli, whereas girls displayed significantly greater left- versus right-hemisphere involvement. Male right-hemisphere activity was also found to be correlated significantly with their accuracy in identifying facial affect -- a relationship not demonstrated for girls. According to the authors, "It is possible that boys process faces at a global level (right hemisphere), whereas girls process faces at a more local level (left hemisphere)." That is, girls may be scrutinizing the face in regard to facial details so as to detect even subtle changes in facial emotion. Indeed, it has been well demonstrated that females are far superior to males in perceiving and expressing a wide range of emotions. However, whereas males use predominantly the right half of the brain, females are more likely to rely on both halves which confers an advtange to females in regard to all aspects of social-emotional functioning. |
| July 8, 2001. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging - What Does It Measure? Blood Flow Some individuals have claimed that Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), measures neural activity - and in some respects this is true. However, recent studies have shown that fMRIs actually measure blood flow. Hence, when the brain lights up with a happy glow (as depicted on the fMRI), the increase in the fMRI signal corresponds proportionately to the amount of blood flow within that part of the brain. Hence, because increases in neural activity also require increases in blood flow, the fMRI is a good indication of brain activity. In one recent study, the fMRI signal and the electrical activity of neurons in the primary visual cortex of monkeys was measured as they were watching rotating checkerboard patterns, and this was made possible via electrodes inserted into the occipital lobe. The relationship between the size of the fMRI signal and three types of electrical activity in neurons were measured, i.e. the slowly changing electrical fields produced by input signals to neurons and by their signal-processing activity, the rapid output pulses that individual neurons generate in response, and the output signals from collections of neurons. The fMRI signal was most strongly related to the input-processing signals, the team found. This, they say, makes sense: processing inputs is the most energy-consuming part of a neuron's job, and so uses more fuel. This fuel is glucose, burnt up by oxygen - both of which are carried in the blood. |
| June 18, 2001. Smoke Pot - Have a Heart Attack It has been alleged that marijuana is bad for the heart and can trigger a heart attack. Recent evidence suggests that the risk for a heart attack, including secondary complications such as stroke, following marijuana smoking, may increase with age. One recent study published in Circulation: The Journal of the American Heart Association, indicates that within the first hour of getting high, especially if you are a middle aged male, that the risk of a heart attack increases five fold. By contrast, the risk of a heart attack after using cocain increases by a factor of 24. On the other hand, it has also been found that the risk of a heart attack following pot smoking is about the same as that following exercise or sex -- many an old man has dropped dead after sex with a young woman: Rockefeller, for example, is said to have died with his secretary on, or rather, while on his secretary: Yee Haa: Ride em rocky! However, according to the lead author of the study, Dr. Murray Mittleman, younger pot smokers have a baseline risk of zero, so even five times zero is not much of an increased risk. However, for older folks, especially those with high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart disease, or a history of heart problems including angina, it is probably best to avoid smoking pot, especially "killer pot" for it just might kill you! Last year, the FDA which fronts for the pharmaceutical industry was forced to demand retractions and corrections to 100 DIFFERENT print and television ads which were little more than lies. The Martians Are Coming Microbes from Mars Pose Contamination Threat to Earthlings Says National Research Council In the year 2014 a Martian probe will return to Earth containing Martian soil samples and possibly Martian Microbes which in turn will likely infect the inhabitants of Earth. The National Research Council in a special report has warned of the incredible dangers this mission poses, and urges the building of a quarantine facility so as to minimize the risk to life on Earth. Some have argued, however, that NASA administrators are putting the entire planet at risk and the mission should be scraped. Others have argued that any Martain samples should be studied, not on Earth, but within the International Space Station which should also house the quarantine facility. NASA administrators, however, are opposed to this idea as the main purpose of the space station is to serve as a U.S. taxpayer funded private laboratory for major pharmaceutical companies. Money talks, and thus although these Martian soil samples may contain hazardous organisms, NASA administrators have decided that it is better to take the risk of contaminating the entire planet rather than offending some giant company that may offer a high paying job and incredible "consulting fees" once the NASA gig peters out. Hence, the quarantine facility will be be built on Earth, which in turn could take seven years or more to design, build, and test. "Building this type of quarantine facility is a project of enormous complexity," said John Wood, staff scientist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Cambridge, Mass. "We strongly recommend that this process get under way as soon as possible." One major problem in constructing such a facility is the unprecedented need for both biological containment and clean-room conditions. Biological containment is designed to protect the Earth's environment from possible contamination by the samples. Because a facility combining these features has never been built, extensive experimentation and testing will be needed to design a system of two-way protection. Of course, even if such a facilty is built, any living organisms are bound to escape particularly in that soil samples will be sent to a variety of laboratories for study. Recognizing the danger, the National Research Council has therefore proposed specific guidelines for release of samples from the facility. If the samples contain evidence of life, these samples should be sterilized by heat or gamma radiation and then released for study elsewhere. Unfortunately, as there are microbes that can withstand even atomic blasts, the notion of somehow sterilizing and killing Martian microbes may well fall within the realm of fantasy. In the final analysis, bringing Martian soil samples to Earth is a dumb and dangerous idea. |
| May 25, 2001. The "Face" On Mars NASA Says: "Face it! There Is No Face! Twenty five years ago while snapping photos of the Martian surface in an area named "Cydonia," NASA's Viking 1 spacecraft began experiencing transmission difficulties due to electronic interference of unknown origin. Even so, the pictures still revealed the shadowy likeness of a human face that resembled an Egyptian Pharaoh (-the black dots are due to the electrical interference). NASA scientists quickly dismissed the "face" as an optical illusion, and ridiculed anyone and everyone who thought differently. More recently and again this week, NASA have released photos and 3-D images taken from the Mars Orbiter in yet another attempt to convince Believers that there is no face. Some Believers have countered that the face is still a face and that it has merely collapsed, or suffered erosion, or even possible recent damage due to forces unknown... | May 24, 2001. Alien Extra-Terrestrial Microbes Brought Back to Life? Italian Researchers Find Conclusive Evidence That Life First Arrived On Earth From Outer Space? Scientists at the Italian National Research Council, and Naples University, report that they have brought back to life dormant extraterrestrial microorganisms discovered inside 4.5 billion-year-old meteorites. According to Drs. Bruno D'Argenio and Giuseppe Geraci, "when exposed to physiological solution, these creatures began to move." According to these scientists, these alien bacteria, called "cryms" (for crystal microbes) had been dormant for billions of years and arrived on this planet, embedded in these meteorites. As based on an analysis of their DNA, these scientists report that "Their genetic code is unlike any known on Earth." Others, however, argued that these microbes are of Earthly origin and contaminated the meteorites after they had crashed to earth. In fact, microorganisms identical to the "cryms" have also been discovered in billion-year-old terrestrial rocks. According to biologist Martino Rizzotti of Padua University: "Those bacteria seem to be too similar to the terrestrial ones. I can't avoid thinking about possible contaminations." |

| May 22, 2001. More Evidence of an RNA World? Nope! There are two major theories as to the origin of life on Earth. According to Dr. Joseph, as detailed in his text, Astrobiology... life originated on other planets and following cosmic collisions, some of these life forms were hurled to Earth. As it is impossible to explain the origin of DNA on Earth, as the mythological organic soup was missing the necessary ingredients, some have argued that the first self-replicating molecules was RNA: Hence, the hypothesis of an RNA world. The problem with the RNA world is as follows: DNA produces RNA, and not the other way around. It is DNA which provides the instructions for the creation of proteins and thus cells and thus organisms such as woman and man. Hence, if you cannot account for DNA you cannot account for the origin of life on Earth, unless, as detailed by Joseph, you accept that the first DNA and thus the first life forms had to be extra-terrestrial in origin. However, NASA and the scientific establishment opposed that view and instead embrace the "organic soup"and what is called the RNA world. Specifically scientists at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research have created a new improved ribozyme, which acts like an RNA catalyst. Of course, unless we are willing to posit the helpful hand of God who like the scientists at Whitehead, also artificially created a ribozyme, it is difficult to see how the creation of a ribozyme explains much of anything. Indeed, even if a ribozyme were in in existence early in the history of the Earth, its presence still cannot account for the creatio of DNA. Nevertheless, this new improved ribozyme, which was created by David Bartel and colleagues can perform catalytic reactions such as the creation of a somewhat flawed and incomplete RNA. In other words, the artificially created ribozyme can create an imperfect RNA--in a laboratory setting and only after 1000 trillion experimental manipulations. However, although this may account for the generation of viruses (as first proposed by Joseph), in truth these results (as reported in Science) cannot even account for the creation of RNA. In fact, even if it could, the ribozymes and the RNA it might fashion cannot account for the creation of DNA. Moreover, the artificially created ribozyme did not really create RNA but rather was able to extend an RNA molecule that already exists, adding up to 14 nucleotides; that is, after 1000 trillion trials! This is an important distinction. Not only must the ribozyme be artificially created and prodded by the helpful hand of a scientist in a well equipped laboratory, but the RNA that it creates must already exist. And, the RNA that it did assist in generating, was incomplete and flawed. Hence, in the final analysis, the creation of this new improved ribozyme explains nothing. The theory of an RNA-world is a dud. |
| May 23, 2001. "Cancer Sticks" Cause Limp Dicks Smoking Linked to Impotence After several intoxicating drinks, a young lady was asked, by a handsome young man: "Do you smoke after sex?" "I don't know," she replied. "I've never looked!" Now, new research indicates that men who smoke may never have sex, as smoking is linked to impotence. Moreover, men with high blood pressure who smoke are 26 times more likely to suffer from impotence; that is, he cannot get an erection (erectile dysfunction). An estimated 30 million American men are reported to suffer from impotence. According to Dr. Spangler who conducted the study, "These data are the first to quantify a 26-fold increase in erectile dysfunction among primary care men with hypertension who also currently smoke, a rate that is also twice that of former smokers." However, the results of this study are also a let down for men who have given up smoking, said Spangler. Even those who have quit smoking are still 11 times more likely to be impotent than non-smokers. |

Fly a Plane - Shrink Your Brain Shrinkage of Temporal Lobes Associated with Increased Flight Time & Disruption of Circadian Rhythms In a study reported in this week's Nature Neuroscience, it was found that the temporal lobes shrink with incrased flight time. Specifically, the study compared temporal lobe MRIs of different groups of flight attendants and it was found that the group who had less time between flights had smaller right temporal lobes. The right temporal lobe is involved in spatial memory as well as emotional functions, and it was found that these flight attendants also suffered short term non-verbal memory deficits, whereas language was not impaired. It has long been known that "jet lag" is associated with disturbances of memory and spatial orientation, and this is a condition suffered by people who travel over different time zones, that is, memory loss, disorientation as well as disrupted sleep.It is also well known that males are superior to females in regard to visual spatial functions, including spatial and non-verbal memory, and it has also been reported that women suffer more acute jet lag than men. The tests employed in this study included non-verbal symbol recognition and differentiation, including, for example, the design of the US flag or the British flag. However, the study does not mean that increased flight time per se disrupts memory or shrinks the temporal lobes, but rather, disruption of circadian rhythms, which follows after flying to different time zones. may injure the temporal lobe. As per disturbances of sleep, it has also been found that the right temporal lobes are more involved than the left in dream production and REM sleep, and that patients denied sufficient REM sleep suffer from disoriention and memory loss. Hence, it appears that disruption of the circadian rhythm, in turn can disrupt functions associated with the right temporal lobe and can in fact injure the right temporal lobe which begins to shrink. |

AIDS/HIV: The Mass Extinction of the African Negro There is No Cure for AIDS Thirty thousand years ago, at least 3 completely distinct species of humanity shared the planet simultaneously: Neanderthals, Homo Erectus, and Cro-Magnon. Neanderthals became completely extinct as did H. Erectus and previous species of hominid. It has been proposed by R. Joseph, that the Neanderthal extinction may have been the result not just of genocidal mass murder, but disease. In more modern times, genocidal mass murder and disease have completely eradicated distinct ethnic groups, such as the peoples of Tazmania. We are now witnesses to another mass extinction of a distinct race of humanity: The African Negro. Within the next 100 years, the peoples of sub-Saharan Africa will have become completely extinct, completely eradicated by HIV/AIDS. Globally, it is estimated that anywhere from 36 million to 100 million people are infected with HIV/AIDS, about 70 percent of them in sub-Saharan Africa and about 18 percent in Asia and the Pacific. In parts of Africa (e.g. Zambia), over 30% of all adults are infected. Between 17 million to 30 million Africans are estimated to have already died from this disease. However, these are only estimates of the prevalence of this disease and those who have died. More importantly, not only is there no cure for HIV/AIDS, but recent research indicates that the nature of the disease makes is incurable, and that misuse of HIV/AIDS drugs (particularly as is common in Africa), can result in the mutation of other virulent strains. Why can't AIDS/HIV be cured? Specifically, it has been determined that HIV/AIDS also infects the DNA of "memory cells." Every time a "memory cell" divides, it faithfully reproduces the HIV that is embedded into its genes. The genome itself becomes infiltrated with HIV, which means it cannot be eradicated. Given the incredible number of Africans currently infected, i.e. up to 30% of all adults, and the fact that this epidemic is completely out of control and will only get worse, the logical conclusion is that within another generation, almost all adult Africans will be infected, and that after another generation, there will be no more generations: The African Negro will have become extinct. |

The Frontal Lobes & Repressed Memories It has been almost 10 years since pedophiles and their defenders in the media and various professional organizations launched an all out attack on victims of sexual abuse and sexual torture - claiming that the some evil therapist had implanted "false memories" into the minds of the victims. Those leading the attack, including distinguished members of the American Psychological Association, have since been discredited as charalatans and "whores" for defense lawyers. There is now overwhelming evidence in humans and animals, that severe and repeated instances of emotional trauma and stress, can injure the memory centers of the brain, the hippocampus and amygdala. Animals and humans may not only become amnesic for these stressful events, but the brain areas responsible for storing these memories show signs of damage. Certainly not all individuals suffer memory loss --some can't stop remembering. However, if the stressful event is repetitive and prolonged, the likelihood of hippocampal damage and memory loss significantly increases. In fact, Dr.Rhawn Joseph has found that whereas most individuals cannot recall anything that happened befor 3.5 years of age, those with a history of severe and repetitive abuse, cannot recall, on average, anything that happened before 6 years of age. Over 20 years ago it Dr. Rhawn Joseph also hypothesized that the frontal lobes may play an active role in repressed memories; that is, by inhibiting the recollection of those memories. The frontal lobes serve as the senior executive of the brain and personality, acting to inhibit irrelevant impulses and memories, including memories that one no longer wishes to remember. Now in a recent study, it has been experimentally demonstrated that the frontal lobes not only play a significant role in memory search and retrieval, but acts to inhibit memory recall and thus plays a significant role in memory suppression, and thus: repressed memories. |

The Brain is Wired for God New Evidence Indicates Scientific & Neurological Foundation for Spiritual Experience In a new study published in the Journal of Religion and Science, Zygon, it has been determined that there is a neurological and scientific foundation for religious and spiritual experience. According to neuroscientist, Dr. R. Joseph, the capacity to have religious and spiritual experiences can be localized to a specific areas of the brain, the inferior temporal lobe and amygdala and hippocampus; the same area which are implicated in life after death experiences, dreaming, and all aspects of emotion. The amygdala, is also activated by LSD. LSD blocks the reception of an inhibitory neurotransmitter, serotonin. Serotonin inhibits information reception, acting as a filter, otherwise we might be overwhelmed. However, by hyperactivating the amygdala, the doors of perception are opened, sensory impressions that are normally filtered out are perceived. Religious experience, including prayer, can also be linked to activation of the amygdala and surrounding structures. The question becomes, why would we have evolved brain structures that enable us to have religious experiences? If evolution is a function of natural selection, then the ability to have these spiritual experiences must have also been naturally selected. However, this would mean that the ability to have these experiences must have existed first and were then naturally selected and passed on to subsequent generations. What these findings also indicate is that the brain acts as a "transmitter to god" and that belief in and the experience of spiritual states is as real as any other sensory experience. |
| May 15, 2001. "Progenitor Cells" Stimulate Neural Recovery Following Brain Damage. In the 1990s, Dr. R. Joseph discovered what was considered impossible. Brain cells continue to be generated during adulthood. Moreover, Joseph discovered that neonatal olfactory-neural tissue, which had not yet differentiated, could be transplanted into damaged brain areas, and restore function (Joseph, 1998a,b,c)-- results which were also thought to be impossible until that time. Now, Dr. T. McIntosh and colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania researchers in an article reported in this week's Journal of Neurosurgery, have reported that they can restore brain function by transplanting neural progenitor cells into rats with brain injuries. Hence, progenitor cells, grown in culture, are able to restore cognitive and motor function and lessen the effects of traumatic brain injury. According to McIntosh, "In this study we have determined how progenitor cells - a more developed type of stem cell - cannot only restore function, but counteract the secondary injuries that result from brain trauma." Unlike stem cells, which are completely unspecialized, progenitor cells have already begun to differentiate --stem cells become progenitor cells which then become completely specialized and differentiate into brain vs heart cells. The progenitor cells they implanted had already begun to differentiate into neural-like tissue but were still largely undifferentiated. However, when transplated into areas of the brain that were damaged, these progenitor cells were able to promote the reconnection of brain pathways that were destroyed during trauma and were able to perform various learning and other cognitive tasks as compared to those who did not receive the transplants. Specifically, these researchers used two different types of progenitor cells. One type remained Śnaďve;1 that is, they had not been altered, while the other had been transfected with a gene to produce Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) which induces nerve cells to grow. "We had originally hypothesized that the NGF-producing cells would be more capable of regenerating brain function," said McIntosh. "We were surprised to find that, in terms of nerve growth, both types of cells performed equally well." However, the NGF-producing cells also protected against further damage in the brain; a process of post injury nerve cell death called apoptosis. | May 9, 2001. The Neurology vs Psychology of Homosexuality Positive Results from Sexual Reorientation Therapy? In the 1970s it was demonstrated that males could be turned into females and vice versa, such that males would "think" process information, and behave sexually like a female and would demonstrate the female pattern of neural organization in the limbic system. This was accomplished experimentally by altering hormonal levels during fetal development or the first ten days after birth. Subsequently, studies published in the 1990s documented that homosexual males demonstrated the "female pattern" of neural organization in those limbic system structures that mediate or control sexual arousal and sexual behavior. As proposed by Dr. Joseph (who pioneered research on the hormonal and environmental basis of sex differences), because these males were in possession of a "female brain" and a "female limbic system" they respond to the male body with sexual arousal just as do human females. As male homosexual sexual behavior is rather rare and unsual in non-human animals (that is,as distinguished from mounting behaviors determining dominance and submission) whereas female lesbian behavior is very common, it was proposed by Joseph that prenatal and post natal stress, such as in the form of severe abuse may have altered the levels of various hormones playing a role in the sexual differentation of the brain, thus creating a "homosexual limbic system" such that these males became neurologically predisposed to engage in homosexual behaviors. In this regard, homosexual behavior is due to the neurological organization of the brain and is not due to choice. However, research presented Dr. Robert L. Spitzer, a psychiatry professor at Columbia University at the American Psychiatric Association in New Orleans suggests that male and female homosexuals can be treated with "reparative therapy" so as to become heterosexual. However, not all were able to change their orientation, including those who were highly motivated to do so. Rather, the the research "indicates that some people can change from gay to straight." It is noteworthy that Spitzer originally led the movement to reclassify homosexuality as "normal" and to remove it from the APA's list of mental disorders. Nevertheless, the study has a number of flaws, as the result were based only on a 45-minute telephone interview with only 200 people who had been referred to his study by religious organizations (e.g., ex-gay ministries) that offer programs to gay people seeking to change from homosexual to heterosexual. In other words, his sample was biased. Moreover, many of those who had "changed" from homosexual to heterosexual also admitted to "thinking of somebody of the same sex during heterosexual sex," and over 90% said they continued to be bothered (at least "slightly") by unwanted homosexual thoughts and feelings. |

A man breaks into your house, rounds up your wife and kids, kills them execution style, and then says he had to do it because he felt his life was in danger. Your government then awards him the Bronze star! Because...because... because... he's A HERO! Of course, it wasn't a house, but a Vietnamese village. But lets get the facts clear: The legitimate president of Viet Nam who was opposing additional U.S. involvement, had been assassinated on orders from the U.S. government, and the U.S. was not concerned not with "democracy" but in the oil fields off the coast of Viet Nam. And the Americans were the unwelcome invaders, invited in by a puppet government installed by the U.S., and our soldiers, the invaders, were killing people whose ancestors had dwelled in Viet Nam for over 25,000 years! Kerry and his men had to massacre women and children because... because...because they were: Eeek! Communists!!! Get my shotgun, Martha! The neighbors are a bunch of commies!!! Ok--sure. Kerry was just following orders, right? And everybody has a few skeletons in their closets... However, how many of those skeletans are of dead women and children? Is Kerry a hero? Of course not. He's a mass murderer of women and babies - there is no other word for it. And of course he's not alone. Males are natural born killers. Even males as young as 2-3 begin picking up sticks in order to pretend to stab, batter and kill things. Likewise, male chimpanzees, who are 98.8% DNA-identical to humans, fight wars with neighboring troops, even murdering former "friends." The Neurobiology of Autism I: Facial Recognition Deficits & the Amygdala Infants display an interest in the human face which becomes increasingly pronounced after the 3rd month of life--though admittedly, girls find the face more interesting than boys. Eye to eye and direct facial interaction promotes mother-infant bonding, and is mediated by the amygdala and overlying temporal lobe, which contains facial recognition neurons. The amygdala also mediates most aspects of emotion including the desire for social-emotional contact. Among their many unusual and abnormal behaviors, autistic children are asocial and from an early age avoid looking at the human face. However, this "avoidance" may in fact be due to neural abnormalities which make it impossible for them to see a face as a face--a condition also referred to as prosopagnosia. In a recent study, by Dr. Geraldine Dawson, it has demonstrated that unlike normal and even mentally retarded children, autistic 3- and 4-year-olds do not react when shown a picture of their mother. However, they do react when they see a picture of a familiar toy. According to Dr. Dawson, " Since all of the children in the study reacted similarly to toys and only the children with autism had problems with face recognition, this indicates an abnormality in those brain circuits responsible for social function." These structures include the limbic system and the amygdala in particular. Specifically Dawson recorded neural electrical activity via evoked responses. Although all three groups showed similar patterns of activity when shown a picture of a favorite toy, and although normal children and those mentally retarded display similar patterns of activity when shown a picture of their mother's face, the autistic children failed to respond, thus suggesting an abnormality in the limbic system and overlying temporal lobe. |

The Neurobiology of Autism II: Neural Growth Factor Proteins There are a number of factors and brain structures associated with the development of autism, and in addition to the amygdala, temporal lobe (and cerebellum), recent evidence indicates that significantly elevated levels of neural growth factor also contribute. As reported by Karin B. Nelson and colleagues in the Annals of Neurology, elevated levels of neural growth factor proteins were discovered in neonatal blood samples taken from children who later developed autism, cerebral palsy. or were later found to be mentally retarded. Neural growth factor proteins play a major role in the development of the brain during embryonic development. Hence, elevated levels of these proteins may be inducing abnormal brain development. |
| April 25, 2001. Adolescent Male Masculine Behavior a Major Health Risk? Let's Just Drug 'em Up Crowd, Condemns Young Males for Acting Like Males The males of almost all animal species are aggressive and struggle for dominance, and these struggles, among humans, can involve pushing, shoving, hitting, and threats of violence. Whereas little girls are picking up dolls and playing mommy, little boys, as young as 2-3 are pretending to kill things. Males are also more physically active than little girls, such that, in consequence, they are far more likely to be medicated with mind bending and brain damaging drugs to control what is in fact normal male behavior and so that they do not act disruptive during class. Now, yet another study has described normal male behavior as "abnormal" referring to male aggressiveness and dominance seeking as pathological and "a public health problem that merits attention;" or, in other words, get out the tranquilizers and let's drug 'em up! According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, in a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, nearly 1/3 of boys surveyed described being "bullied," or engaging in "bullying." Although the authors of this study admitted that these behaviors constitute a "widespread" and common "rite of passage through childhood," they nevertheless believe these normal male behaviors are abnormal and constitute a public health crisis. The authors of this study recommend that males engaging in normal male attention seeking and dominance seeking behaviors should be singled out, and intervention strategies should be implemented, so that males cease to act like males, and instead act like...well, like girls. |
| April 24, 2001. E.T. Where Art Thou? UFO Bureau Believes Aliens No Longer Visit the Earth. Mission Accomplished? No--a UFO is not an Italian sports car! Six thousand years ago, the ancient peoples of Sumer (in what later became Babylon) claimed that a technologically advanced race of people, the Anunnaki, long ago visited the Earth in order to exploit it for its resources. The Anunnaki, it is claimed, even performed genetic experiments on the primitive humans they encountered (the Neanderthals?) in order to create a more intelligent slave (the Cro-Magnon?). Throughout history there have been accounts of marvelous flying ships and visitors from other planets... and following the explosion of the first atomic bomb, reports of alien encounters, abductions, and "flying saucers" also mushroomed. The British Flying Saucer Bureau, who have been hunting extra-terrestrials for over 50 years, often received up to 30 UFO sightings a week. However, as of late, the sightings have dropped almost to zero, and the organization has lost so many members (no, they weren't abducted), they have decided to call it quits. According to one of the directors, the testing of the first atomic bomb apparently drew attention to the Earth, which is why the number of UFO sightings exploded. However, the aliens have apparently completed their surveys and are now off exploring other worlds: Hence, no more sightings. Others see the drop off in visitations as possibly heralding something more ominous: the aliens have instead decided to clear out and to observe from a safe distance away, before whatever bad thing that is supposed to happen, happens. We at Brain-Mind.com have to admit that we have never seen a UFO--except for that one time in Yugoslavia--no wait, that wasn't a UFO, it was a Yugo, and come to think of it, Yugo sightings have also dropped off. | April 19, 2001. Mothering is Superior to Day Care This is News? For years, a certain faction of the radical feminist movement and their supporters in the APA, have been urging moms to stick those kids in day care--because it so good for them! Uh huh... And besides, who wants to be around crying brats all day, when you can be off working for minimum wage?!! Now researchers have "discovered" what every mom has known all along: Mothering is superior to day care. Kids stuck in day care are far more likley to develop emotional and behavioral problems, including pronounced aggressive tendencies and attention seeking behavior--after all, they are starved for attention. The more time spent in day care, the more pronounced are these behavioral abnormalities. Now don't panic, caution those "experts" who urge women to put their careers and jobs ahead of their babies -- after all, there is Ritalin! Tegratol! Major tranquilizers! Just drug up the little monsters! Now call us cruel for pointing out the obvious, but if a woman is going to have a baby, then she has a responsibility to provide care for that baby. Babies need mothering, lots of mothering!! -and although the radical feminists think it is a terrible idea, if a woman is going to have a baby, she should also be married, so that the man can help her with the financial burden. Single women are often great moms, but on average, the children of women who are married are less aggressive and have fewer behavioral and emotional problems compared to those reared by single moms, or those who spend 30 hours a week or more in day care. Yes Yes - we know. Women have to work. What's the solution? For one, require all large employers to provide onsite day care, that way, mom can spend time during the working day with her children. For another, the work week for women with young children should be less than 30 hours a week - because infants who spend more than 30 hours a week in child care are three times as likely to develop and display behavioral and emotional problems. Indeed, from birth to age 3, infants require lots and lots of mothering, and that requires a full time mother and full time maternal care. Yes, what a surprise, mothering is superior to day care! Who would have guessed? |

Physicians Perform Medical Experiments on Twins Joined at Head Don't Be Fooled by the Word "Humanitarian" Every so often we read of "noble" doctors donating their time to perform life saving surgery on some unfortunate soul. The more cynical among us might instead say that these doctors are performing human experiments that confer no benefit on the victim and serve only to satisfy the medical curiosity of the doctors. Last week, doctors in Singapore performed medical experiments on twin sisters, joined at the head and brain--actually sharing much of the same brain in the same skull. That these twins were already severely brain damaged was apparent prior to the surgery. The baby to the left, for example, is NOT smiling and appears to be partially paralyzed. In addition to missing the top half of its head, that's a rather severe case of cleft lip --a condition (when this severe) that is stereotypically associated with prosencephaly; i.e. a brain that is only partially developed and missing much of the neocortex and missing the sulci and gyri that give the brain its convoluted appearance. Ditto for the twin to the right. These twins were profoundly mentally retarded and probably had the IQ of a squid. Although perhaps it is true, as the wonderful doctors who performed the surgery have argued, that anyone with half a brain could see that the surgery was necessary. Of course, the more cynical among us might also argue that anyone using both halves of their brain can also see that these twins have become even more brain damaged after the surgery. Amazingly, the doctors who performed these medical experiments are claiming that the twins did not suffer brain damage even though the cojointly shared brain was sawed in half and much of the brain was severely damaged by the surgery. Why, they will open their eyes following vigorous and painful stimulation! Their legs will twitch! Success! However, although we are told there is no sign of brain damage because they open their eyes, the twins are in fact heavily sedated and are unconcious! Hey! Great work! Now the twins have the mental capacity of a rock! Moreover, both twins have developed massive life threatening infections directly related to the surgery. Great work Doc! OK - call us cruel for pointing out the obvious, but the merciful solution would have been to allow these infants to die. |
| April 17, 2001. Candy is Dandy! But Liquor is Quicker! Why Women Get Drunk Easier Viva La Difference! And one of those differences that distinguish males from females is the fact that females become intoxicated quicker and more easily than males. This is actually because women are superior to men when it comes to digesting alcohol, which in turn makes them more vulnerable to its disinhibiting effects. However, they digest more alcohol because they have lower levels of a key enzyme that breaks down gastric alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) in the stomach, which also puts them more at risk of developing alcohol related diseases like cirrhosis of the liver and dementia. By contrast, as males have higher levels of this enzyme, alcohol is broken down more quickly before it has a chance to be absorbed into the bloodstream--which also explains why, although candy is dandy, liquor is quicker. We'll drink to that! |

Older Men More Likely to Have Schizophrenic Children In a study published in the Archives of General Psychiatry it was reported that older men are far more likely to have children with schizophrenia, as compared to younger men. Specifically, it was found that men who were between the ages 45 to 49 when they fathered children, were twice as likely as those under 25 to have schizophrenic children. Men older than 50 were three times more likely. The culprit appears to be male sperm, and in particular the male Y-chromosome which is far more likely that the female X-chromosome to undergo deleterious mutations. That is, advancing age appears to have a deleterious effect on male sperm and possibly the Y-chromosome. As is well known, a female is born with all her eggs, whereas sperm cells divide and reproduce. As a man ages, the number of times the sperm cell has reproduced increases exponentially. By age 20, sperm cells have undergone about 200 divisions; by age 40, about 660 divisions, and with each division there is an increase risk of chromosomal abnormalities. Hence, not just old sperm, but sperm that has repeatedly undergone cell divisions significantly contributes to the development of schizophrenia --a disorder that effects between 1-2% of the population. |
| April 13, 2001. Marijuana & the Munchies Marijuana, as all pot smokers know, induces a feeling of euphoria as well as ravenous hunger. The euphoria is due in part to the marijuana-induced secretion of enkephalins, natural opiate-like substances. It is because of these opiate-like properties that marijuana can become addictive. It has also been determined that marijuana acts on the limbic system, and it has been suspected that marijuana induces incredible hunger by activating the lateral hypothalamus (which triggers hunger) and/or by deactivating the ventral-medial hypothalamus (which counteracts the lateral hypothalamus, inducing a feeling of satiaty). Recent evidence published in Nature, also indicates that marijuana-like substances are also secreted by the brain in response to pot smoking, i.e., endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids apparently play a significant role in signalling hunger and controlling appetite. Specifically, scientists found that mice who had been genetically altered so that endocannabinoid brain receptors were eliminated, were no longer able to react to endocannabinoids and ate less and dropped in weight, and the same was true of mice injected with a substance that blocked the endocannabinoid receptors. Presumably, endocannabinoids interact with a substance referred to as leptin. When leptin is at low levels, eating increases, and when at high levels, eating decreases. |

Genetic Pollution: More Crops Contaminated Brain-Mind.com has been warning of the dangers of genetic pollution, and the fact that genes that have been modified and inserted into plants, insects, or animals, are unstable and can exit the organism they have been inserted into, and can infilitrate and contaminate the genomes of other living things. In Britain, it was announced today that two different crops have been discovered to be contaminated with genetic pollution and now contained DNA commonly used in genetically modified plants. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food announced that they intended to immediately kill these plants to prevent further genetic contamination -though in this regard we are sure they are too late. Almost our entire food supply has been contaminated with genetic pollution and it is likely that the genomes of other living things, including humans, have also been contaminated with altered genes which have escaped their hosts and have burrowed into our DNA. |

Rape & Memory Gaps Traumatic Stress Disrupts Memory - Memory Gaps Assist Police in Determining Credibility of Rape Victims It has been known for almost 100 years that traumatic stress can disrupt memory. Then, about 10 years ago, "distinguished" members of the APA, and other charlatans and defenders of pedophiles, began publishing junk science and making the bogus claim that stress is good for memory, and that those who lose their memory are lying and were never really traumatized. As it turns out, the liars were the "distinguished" members of the APA and the journals they published in. It is now again well established that traumatic stress disrupts memory, and that those who have been traumatized may lose varying degrees of memory, such that their memories may be riddled with gaps. Moreover, they may attempt to fill those gaps with information that is tangentially related to those aspects of the memory that are preserved (referred to as "gap filling" and confabulation) --as first theorized as detailed by Dr. Rhawn Joseph. In fact, the existence of memory gaps and gap filling are now used by police as an indication that the victim is telling the truth. As recently demonstrated by Dr. Chris Few of the University of Leicester, superfluous details coupled with memory gaps are indications of truthfulness. This technique is particularly useful in determing the veracity of "rape victims" as about 40% of "rape victims" fabricate the rape and falsely claim to have been raped when no rape occurred (as also detailed in the recent book, Sexuality: Female Evolution & Erotica). However, by using a checklist that includes indices to determine the presence of memory gaps and gap filling, the ability to determine the truthfullness of a victim's statements increased by almost 30%. |
| April 11, 2001. First "Big Bang" Was Actually a Second Big Bang Caused by Another Big Bang? The Gang Bang Theory of Creation The Temple Priests of Science generally hold to the view that at first there was nothing. Nothing! Not even space. Then: Kablooey! There was an explosion and then there was stuff! Dr. Joseph refers to this as the "nothing happened theory of creation." Now, in a new theory published in the journal Physical Review, it is being argued that the nothingness exploded when it was hit by another nothingness, such that one big bang collided with this nothingness thus causing it to explode. Kaboom! Pow! Bang! More specifically, it is proposed that before this universe can into existence, another universe collided with it, causing such incredible heat that there was an explosion and the nothingness became a searing soup of subatomic particles such that nothingness gave rise to everything, including those scientists who believe in nothing. More seriously, this other universe is believed to have existed in parallel with this universe before this universe existed. However, whereas this universe supposedly consists of 3 dimensions (though there may be more than 12), sitting atop and between these dimensions is an incredibly thin 4th dimension, which is sandwhiched inside. However, this 4th dimension collided with one of the walls of the 3rd dimensions thus causing an explosion and thus the big bang. The authors, in creating this new model of the big bang have christened it the "ekpyrotic universe", which is directly related to the Greek idea of "cosmic fire." This new theory is actually compatible with the increasingly popular string theory of particle physics. Of course, if there are other dimensions, and if this theory is true, this raises the possibility that there may be more collisions and thus more explosions and even more "Big Bangs" which is why Dr. Joseph refers to this as the "Gang Bang" theory of creation. |
| April 6, 2001. The Neuroanatomy of Mind The brain and mind are organized such that four separate mental systems are localized side by side and one on top of the other. The most primitive and reflexive aspect of the mind is associated with the brainstem. It is the brainstem which controls and mediates reflexive motor and vegetative functions including breathing, heart rate, the sleep - wake cycle, and arousal. The brainstem is the first part of the brain to develop and the behavior of the newborn infant is governed by the brainstem. Sitting atop the brainstem is the ancient limbic system. The limbic system is in many respects synonymous with the unconscious mind, and is the source of all emotional and sexual impulses. It is the ancient limbic system which mediates the four "Fs:" Feeding, fighting, fleeing, and sexual behavior. The limbic system is located within the belly and floor of the human cerebrum. The neocortical mantle of the right and left hemisphere are associated with conscious awareness, and each half of the brain has evolved its own unique strategy for perceiving, processing, and expressing information, as well as specialized neuroanatomical interconnections that assist in mediating these functions. Whereas the limbic system mediates the more unconscious aspects of social-emotional and personal awareness, the neocortex and the cerebral hemispheres are organized such that two potentially independent mental systems coexist, literally side by side. For example, expressive and receptive speech, linguistic knowledge and thought, mathematical and analytical reasoning, as well as the temporal-sequential and rhythmical aspects of consciousness, are associated with the functional integrity of the left half of the brain in the majority of the population. The left half of the brain is associated with language and thought, including thinking in words as well as verbal memory. In contrast, the right cerebral hemisphere is associated with visual spatial, non-verbal and emotional memory and mediates the recollection and storage of traumatic memories. The right hemisphere is also associated with nonlinguistic environmental awareness, visual-spatial perceptual functioning including analysis of depth, figure-ground, stereopsis, facial recognition, the maintanance of the body image and even the sense of smell. The right hemisphere is dominant in the perception, expression and mediation of almost all aspects of emotionality including emotional vocalization and emotional comprehension. Thus whereas the left hemisphere comprehends and speaks words and sentences, the right hemisphere comprehends and contributes the emotional melody and the melodic aspects of speech. Whereas the left hemisphere might interpret the words: "You want to go outside?" as merely a question, the right hemisphere interpets that question in order to determine if one is being threatened with a punch in the nose. Capping these mental system are the frontal lobes, the senior executive of the brain and personality. Hence, whereas the limbic system says: "I want it" and is associated with the generation of raw impulses and the pleasure principle, the frontal lobes say: "You can't have it," and are associated with the moral conscience and superego functions, acting to censor unacceptable and dangerous impulses arising in the highly emotional and sexual limbic system. However, the limbic system is more closely functionally aligned with the right hemisphere, such that the right hemisphere is also associated with the emotional aspects of the unconscious. By contrast, the logical, analytical, language dependent conscious mind is almost exclusively associated with the left hemisphere, and the left hemisphere is often unconscious of those impulses and memories stored or generated within the limbic system and right half of the brain. |

Cloning Around with Genetic Pollution Cloning and Genetic Pollution Threaten to Genetically Poison the Human Race There are those who oppose cloning and the genetic manipulation of plants and animals on moral grounds, as a matter of ethics. We at Brain-Mind.com oppose cloning and genetic manipulation on scientific grounds: The release of genetic pollution into the environment and food supply threatens to genetically poison life on this planet, including the human race. Cloning and genetic engineering are completely unregulated and these procedures should be outlawed upon threat of death --simply because these procedures threaten life on this planet. Genetically altered genes are unstable and can easily escape into the environment only to insert themselves into the genomes of other living things -including woman and man. Nevertheless the genetic manipulation of bacteria, plants, insects and animals, has grown to epidemic proportions. Genetically manipulated monstrocities are even being produced to entertain the public... including, for example, in China, the creation of mice and rabbits with human ears and faces and which are then displayed on the street and can be viewed by gawkers for a few pennies. Cloning also poses a direct threat as clones are genetically abnormal, and as animals that have been cloned are being introduced into the food supply and are being cloned for the purposes of breeding and producing milk. Already so called "champion" cows are being cloned in "secret" laboratories and sold on the open market, including, most recently, in Minnesota. The Holstien Association USA has begun registering clones. According to one seller: "I see the day when I can order up a thousand clones to be delivered to this and that dairy at such-and-such a date, just by making a phone call." Why isn't this a good idea? Clones are genetically abnormal. Most die before they are born. They rest are so genetically abnormal and grossly deformed that they die soon after they are born, or they age so quickly, they turn old and gray and die just a few years after they are born. The susceptibility to death and disease is incredibly exaggerated in cloned animals --and now they want to introduce these genetic monstrocities into the food supply? They already have. |
