Brief Biography of
Rhawn Joseph, Ph.D.

Rhawn Gabriel Joseph began his professional scientific career in the 1970s when he proved and published what were then, major discoveries: 1) neuroplasticity and recovery of function in the primate brain, 2) the hormonal basis of sex differences, 3) early environmental influences on primate brain neuronal-synaptic connections and neural-perceptual development in primate, 4) the effects of enriched vs deprived environmental influences on intelligence, memory, learning and curiosity, 5) Split-Brain - Dual Mental Functioning in Adults and Children (see Joseph 1978, 1980, Joseph et al. 1978, 1979; Joseph & Gallagher, 1980; Joseph & Casagrande 1978, 1980; Casagrande & Joseph 1978, 1980).

Subsequently, Dr. Joseph published major scientific studies in the fields of neuroscience, development, embryology, evolution, quantum physics, consciousness, genetics, and astrobiology (see list of publications below).

In May of 2016, Dr. Joseph provided evidence and reported that 40 experts in fungi and 30 experts in geomorphology, after examining photos of Martian specimens taken by NASA, formed a statistically significant consensus that there is a high probability of life on Mars. In February of 2019, Dr. Joseph and four colleagues published a major monograph detailing their finding in the Journal of Astrobiology and Space Science Reviews, 1, 40-82, 2019: Evidence of Life on Mars: Viking LR, Meteor ALH8401, Stromatolites, Methane, Lichens, Fungi

In the year 2020, Dr. Joseph, leading several teams of the world's experts, published six major peer reviewed research articles, which, in total, provides conclusive proof there is life on Mars:

Metazoans on Mars? Statistical Quantitative Morphological Analysis of Fossil-Like Features

Seeding the Solar System with Life: Mars, Venus, Earth, Moon, Protoplanets

Oceans, Lakes, and Stromatolites on Mars

Life on Mars: Colonies of Photosynthesizing Mushrooms in Eagle Crater?

Mars: Algae, Lichens, Fossils, Minerals, Microbial Mats, and Stromatolites in Gale Crater

Mars: Life, Subglacial Oceans, Abiogenic Photosynthesis, Atmospheric Oxygen

It's been said that: New, paradigm busting discoveries, must pass through three stages: Ridicule. Violent Opposition. Acceptance as Self-Evident. Dr. Joseph's work documenting there is life on Mars, is now at the "violent opposition" stage; and has, understandably, met with a storm of invective and relentless attacks and attempts to censor his work. These discoveries are an embarrassment to NASA. Hence, we will have to wait until China and other nations begin exploring Mars, for these momentous discoveries to be confirmed.

A Brief Biography is provided after the list of Dr. Joseph's publications.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

"Rhawn" means "the dawn sun rising" ("the bringer of light") but his father just called him "son." Due to the spelling of his name, his first and last names were always being confused by others, and he became known as "Joseph."

Joseph age 3

Beginning around the age of three, Rhawn Gabriel Joseph developed a fascination for birds, salamanders, tadpoles, caterpillars, and especially sand crabs, ants and bees which he collected, placed in jars and assorted containers, and then did his best to keep alive. And, there were the dogs, cats, and singing parakeets, which were always about the house. His parents, taking notice of his interest in mixing together various ingredients from the kitchen and the garage (along with flowers, insect and animals parts), gave him his first microscope and chemistry set at age 5, and he immediately sought to create life.

Joseph's father, "Richard", had been raised on a farm and had spent many an evening studying and gazing at the stars; a fascination he shared with his little son, Joseph; and together they would stand outside, gazing up at the sky, sometimes with binoculars in hand, his father pointing out stars, planets and the constellations, tracing them out and explaining their names, beginning with the Big Dipper, then the Little Dipper, the three belt stars of Orion, the Morning and Evening Stars, and Mars. On his seventh birthday, Joseph received his first telescope.

Joseph's fondest childhood memories were summers on his grandparent's farm and ranch: "running wild, swimming in the reservoir, studying and collecting insects and rodents, riding on the tractor with my granddad as he explained the nature of the crops, the seasons, metamorphosis and the cycle of life, good and bad insects, and the behavior and habits of the animals who dwelled on the ranch. When I about age 3 or 4, I watched as my grandfather chopped off the head of a chicken which, minus its head, ran to and fro until finally toppling to the ground. It made a profound impression on me."

"I loved that ranch and I loved my grandparents. My grandmother was incredibly wise and intelligent, but deeply religious, and would read to me, stories from the Bible which fired my imagination about the origins of everything, the beginnings, and what came before. But it was the story of Sodom and Gomorrah which led me to turn away and reject this angry, violent, irrational "god." I couldn't understand why God would kill everyone in these cities; Grandma tried to explain. And then I asked: "Did he also kill all the children? Even the babies? She said "yes." I was probably about six or seven years old, but at that moment, I decided I did not like this god, and began to doubt his existence, or that he was really a god."

"Music, playing piano and guitar, drawing, painting, and books were part of my life from as early as I can remember. I loved to read, but I never liked school which I thought boring and repetitious. And, teachers were always getting angry with me for asking inappropriate questions and challenging authority. Well before I hit high school I was already skipping classes and hitchhiking to the mountains, the ocean, or U.C. Berkeley, sometimes with a book in hand."

Joseph age 13.

"As for girls, I was attracted to the opposite sex for as long as I can remember; but didn't have my first intimate experiences until I hit age 13, when the deliciously lovely, long-legged Mrs. T--our neighbor and a newlywed whose lawns I mowed each week--began undressing and strolling back and forth in front of her big bay-backyard-windows in bra and panties, sometimes in high heels, and giving me not a glance as I mowed away while gazing at her like a hungry lion staring at steak. Despite the roaring of the power mower, I thought maybe she didn't know I was in her backyard and that I could see her as she stripped and strutted. And this went on for weeks every time I mowed her lawn. And then one hot day as I mowed away, she opened a sliding glass door, and wearing just a little robe and high heels, invited me in for lemonade...."

Since then, I've squeezed a lot of lemonade... and some peaches too...

"I had been artistically and musically inclined since early childhood... but by time I graduated high school, I realized I would never be a great artist. My destiny was science.

"I had been doing childish "scientific" experiments since I was a kid. When my family moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1967, it was at the height of the "Summer of love" and I eagerly sought out and began to experiment with LSD, a truly mind expanding substance which I believe enhanced my intelligence and provided me with a greater understanding and an expanded consciousness of consciousness and the nature of reality; insights which meshed with another field of science: quantum physics. But I didn't know that then."

"In the 1970s, when I finally started college, I began volunteering to help some of the grad students and professors with their animal studies. I learned a lot, but nobody would turn me loose in their labs, and there were a lot of experiments I wanted to perform. Finally, I was given carte blanche by a professor who had an animal lab, but never used it; and this led to major opportunities to do big time research in neuroscience, genetics, and biology."

In the late 1970s Dr. Joseph designed, proved, and published what were then, major discoveries: 1) neuroplasticity and recovery of function in the primate brain, 2) the hormonal basis of sex differences, 3) early environmental influences on primate brain neuronal-synaptic connections and neural-perceptual development in primate, 4) the effects of enriched vs deprived environmental influences on intelligence, memory, learning and curiosity (see, for example, Joseph 1978, 1980, Joseph et al. 1978, 1979; Joseph & Gallagher, 1980; Joseph & Casagrande 1978, 1980; Casagrande & Joseph 1978, 1980).

In the 1970s, Dr. Joseph also conducted research on the effects of the environment on gene selection as pertaining to brain development and evolution and the turning on of "silent genes", and in the early 1980s he became interested in the physics and genetics of brain and human evolution which he traced through ancestral species and which led him to the extraterrestrial origins of life on Earth, and, thus he became very involved in the new field of astrobiology. Over the next twenty years, in addition to his expertise in neuroscience, he became an expert in astrobiology, genetics, evolution, and quantum physics.

Dr. Joseph went on to make numerous major scientific discoveries; most of his research has been self-funded; and his work has been replicated many times. In 1986, Dr. Joseph established the "Brain Research Laboratory" in "Silicon Valley" California, and which led to several major discoveries and patents pending.

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Joseph was invited to speak at the University of California at Berkeley, University of Geneva, Brigham Young, University of Japan and other universities, and his published works were reprinted by Harvard Medical School and other universities. He was also invited and gave a lecture on bio-computing to an audience of several hundred engineers at Hewlett Packard, and which led to job offers which he declined.

In 1990 he was appointed to the California Superior Court's Panels of Forensic Experts, and was Court-appointed to over 500 criminal cases, and testified in Court, as an expert witness, as an expert in brain functioning, approximately 100 times. The United States government also referred several thousand individuals suspected of suffering brain injuries to Dr. Joseph and the Brain Research laboratory for examination.

In 1990 and 1996, Dr. Joseph published several "best selling" scholarly texts in the field of neuroscience, which received the highest praise in peer reviewed scientific journals. In 1997, he published: "Life on Earth Came From Other Planets" and in 1999 and 2000, Dr. Joseph published several peer reviewed scientific articles on evolution, embryology, and development, followed by the text: "Astrobiology, the Origins of Life, and the Death of Darwinism" which instantly became a best seller among scientific, scholarly books.

In 2003 he founded BrainMind Documentary Films and produced, edited, and narrated dozens of science, historical and documentary films which were viewed over 50 Million times at youtube between 2005 and 2009.

Joseph 2007

In 2009, Dr. Joseph founded and published the Journal of Cosmology (JOC), appointed Dr. Rudolf Schild of Harvard, editor-in-chief, and in less than 2 years made it the most read, most talked about scientific journal in the world. Over 40 NASA scientists published articles in Joseph's JOC, two NASA Senior Scientists served as editors of two editions. Scientists from every major university in the world published in JOC within the first two years of its founding, and with a growing monthly readership which reached a high of over 600,000 in a single month--at which point, Dr Joseph sold it to the three executive editors. It was at this time that he, one of his authors, the Journal of Cosmology, and the editors were viciously slandered and libeled by NASA for publishing evidence of microfossils in an ancient meteorite. NASA has a 50 year history of slandering, threatening, bullying, and attacking even Nobel Prize winning scientists who publish research NASA opposes.

Between 2009 and 2015, Dr. Joseph published and co-authored major articles in the fields of astrobiology in books edited by senior scientists at NASA (e.g. Drs. M Russell, J. Levine et al), and several studies in quantum physics, cosmology, and consciousness in books edited by Deepak Chopra, Sir Roger Penrose of Oxford, and others.

In April of 2016, Dr. Joseph began a study, seeking a consensus among the world's experts, as to the likelihood that specimens photographed on Mars, by NASA's rovers, were living organisms, and 70 scientists, identified by their universities as experts in fungi, geomorphology or mineralogy, closely examined photos of these Martian specimens and reached a consensus that there was a high probability of life on Mars, and the peer reviewed evidenced was published (Joseph 2016). See:

Joseph, R. (2016). A High Probability of Life on Mars: Consensus of 70 Experts

70 Experts in fungi, geomorphology and mineralogy examined the visual evidence and formed a statistically significant consensus and identified these and 8 other specimens as "fungi" and "mushrooms" growing on Mars (Joseph 2016).

After Dr. Joseph obtained a statistically significant consensus, among 70 experts, that there is a high probability of life on Mars, he published a second study in December of 2016, and provided considerable evidence demonstrating that Martian bacteria and fungi had contaminated and were damaging the NASA Mars Rovers.

In March of 2017, Dr. Joseph traced the probable origins of at least some of the fungi and bacteria growing on the Mars Rovers, back to NASA which only cleaned but never completely sterilized the rovers; and in consequence trillions of microbes were likely transported from Earth to Mars (Joseph 2017).

Then, in 2019, and in a series of six major articles published in four different journals in 2020, Dr. Joseph, leading teams of experts, published a body of evidence that proves, conclusively: There is Life on Mars.

What has been NASA and the "scientific" community's response to this body of evidence? Slander, defamation, death threats.

"Old truths" are "self evident." But there was a time when each "old truth" began as a "new truth" and as such, met resistance. New truths, especially those with overturn conventional wisdom, are typically met with scorn, ridicule, violent opposition... and many years must pass, sometimes decades, even centuries, before these new truths are recognized as "self-evident."

Conducting this research, publishing these discoveries has been a fascinating, exciting, and horrifically unpleasant experience, because, instead of applause, I unleashed the "torches and pitchforks crowd who come lumbering forth, hooting and grunting in fear, seeking to destroy what they don't understand."

...I've stormed the castle walls, slain the gate-keepers, climbed and attacked the citadel, toppled and smashed the idols of the Temple Priests of Science... and still they worship their fallen and shattered gods...

And that's the way it is, and that's the way it will always be...

When not working, Dr. Joseph spends his time swimming in the ocean, hiking in the mountains or along the shores of the sea... thinking... always thinking...

... and the spiraling universe swirled back,
and coiled 'round on planets' knees and shooting stars to ponder its depths in the cathedral of human consciousness....
... in the mirror of the sea of human consciousness...
... to peer and reflect upon its soul...
... as mirrored in the rising tides of human consciousness...
